In 1988 Steve Bernstein opened the “Uptown Delicatessen” in Clayton, Ohio-- a kosher style deli and restaurant that quickly gained a following.  Bernstein had a wealth of knowledge to contribute to his new company having previously worked for The University of New Mexico food service, The University of Dayton’s food service and other companies within the hospitality industry.  Soon after opening the “Uptown”, Bernstein hired on Adam Baumgarten as a dish boy at the age of 15.  Baumgarten learned the ropes of the food industry and worked his way into food prep and eventually management upon graduating from the University of Pittsburgh.  In 2006 Baumgarten moved to his current position as Bernstein’s partner/Co-owner.   As the demands of catering grew, Bernstein knew his focus had to change and he closed the restaurant and deli front.  In 2011 the “Uptown Delicatessen” became solely Bernstein’s Fine Catering and moved to its new location with twice the kitchen and storage space.   With a combined experience of over 70 years the team at Bernstein’s Fine Catering will meet all your catering demands.  The Bernstein’s Fine Catering Team is always up to date with the latest trends, concepts and tastes with continued culinary education through the ICA and other catering conferences through the year.
